DICA is a new platform to make your academic texts stand out.
In view of the growing demand for publications of academic texts and for the dissemination of studies in national and international congresses, the development of specific lexicographic works, such as dictionaries in the academic area, is an extremely important issue. Among the many users who can benefit from this specialized lexicographic auxiliary tool are university students, as well as university professors and researchers.
DICA aims at developing and boosting users’ collocational competence in academic writing, thus helping them improve their academic texts.
English Platform of Collocations
The Online English Collocations Platform is an interactive tool designed to enhance English collocational skills, especially for Brazilian Portuguese speakers, by teaching common word combinations.
Developed by Dr. Adriane Orenha-Ottaiano at UNESP, this platform is part of research on corpus-based teaching. Its aim is to help learners achieve natural-sounding fluency by mastering collocations, which are frequent, culturally specific phrases that native speakers use intuitively.
